Jagrati Foundation is a community-driven non-governmental organisation working to build self-reliant rural communities across Karnataka through education, environment, livelihood, healthcare, and social awareness.
Rooted in Karkala, Udupi District, we work closely with villages, farmers, women, youth, children, and elders to turn awareness into real, lasting change.
We believe rural India does not need charity alone – it needs partnership, opportunity, and the right support to help every family move forward with dignity.
Jagrati Foundation works to empower rural Karnataka through practical, community-led programmes in awareness, education, healthcare, livelihoods, and environmental care.
Our mission is to walk alongside rural and semi-urban communities, helping families access knowledge, opportunities, support systems, and dignity.
Through every programme, we aim to create self-reliant communities where people are not dependent on charity, but strengthened through awareness, skills, and partnership.
“Jagrati” means awareness, awakening, and watchfulness. We chose this name because real change begins when people become aware of their rights, opportunities, health, environment, and inner strength.
At Jagrati Foundation, we act as a bridge between rural communities and the support they deserve – helping awareness turn into action, confidence, and dignity.
Rooted in Karkala, Udupi District, Jagrati Foundation works across Karnataka through village-level engagement, taluk-level programmes, and district resource centres.
Our reach extends to farmers, women, youth, children, elders, and rural families through livelihood support, healthcare outreach, social awareness, and Kannada knowledge resources.

Every programme begins by listening to the people we serve. We understand village needs, local challenges, and community priorities before designing any solution.

Jagrati means awareness, and awareness is at the heart of our work. We help people understand their rights, opportunities, health, environment, and available support systems.

From healthcare camps and skill training to farmer bazaars, plantation drives, and government scheme guidance, our work is designed to create real support on the ground.

We work with panchayats, schools, self-help groups, government departments, healthcare professionals, farmers, volunteers, and institutions to reach more people.

Our aim is not temporary relief, but lasting progress. We measure success through healthier families, skilled youth, greener villages, stronger livelihoods, and more confident communities.
Jagrati Foundation is guided by a committed leadership team supported by volunteers, field coordinators, experts, and community partners. Together, they work with compassion, transparency, and purpose to create lasting change across rural Karnataka.

Jagrati Foundation grows stronger with partners who support rural development, healthcare, education, environment, livelihood, awareness, and community welfare across Karnataka.

We protect and restore forests, wetlands, oceans, and grasslands — vital ecosystems that millions of species depend on. From planting native trees to establishing wildlife corridors, we fight habitat loss at its roots.
We support frontline rangers, provide surveillance tools, and campaign to stop the illegal trafficking of endangered species like elephants, rhinos, and pangolins.
Our teams respond to wildlife in distress — from injured sea turtles to orphaned primates. We provide medical care, shelter, and when possible, return them safely to the wild.
We clean up polluted coastlines, rescue entangled marine life, and campaign for cleaner oceans to protect dolphins, whales, sea turtles, and coral reefs.
We run workshops, school programs, and village training to raise awareness and promote coexistence between people and wildlife. Local communities are key to long-term conservation success.
With the help of scientists and field experts, we study species behavior, migration, and population health — using data to drive smarter conservation strategies.
